As a seasoned gamer of the runway, I’ve seen my fair share of fashion spectacles, but Jonathan Anderson and LOEWE’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection left me utterly spellbound under the Parisian drizzle. The engraved golden rings for entry were a classy touch that made me feel like Cinderella, only instead of a pumpkin carriage, I was whisked into a world of wearable artistry.
Jonathan Anderson and LOEWE are a match made in heaven. The Irish designer returned to Paris Fashion Week on Friday morning to present his Spring/Summer 2025 womenswear collection under gloomy Parisian downpours, inviting guests, including Emily Ratajkowski and Daniel Craig with an engraved gold ring as their entry.
At Loewe’s spacious headquarters, the interior was left minimalistic, adorned only by a bird sculpture crafted by British artist Tracey Emin atop a 396-centimeter tall wooden post. Soft melodies echoed around, imbuing Mozart, Bach, Chopin, and Manet’s flowery paintings with a sense of wearability, turning them into fashionable artworks.
In the initial outfits, there were abstract floral designs that appeared as if they were suspended in the air, supported by a wire frame. Anderson showcased his contemporary design style through voluminous ponchos and mini dresses preserved in shape, along with fragmented motorcycle racing graphics that led to fuzzy cross-stitched tops and expanded two-tone suits.
19th-century portraits of Mozart are featured on casual T-shirts, while Van Gogh’s “Irises” painting from the 1890s adorns oversized clothing. For the Spring/Summer 25 collection, Anderson designed a stylish ensemble for the modern woman, outfitting models in relaxed single-breasted suits, voluminous mini skirts, and billowing leather car coats. At LOEWE, Jonathan Anderson consistently delivers an impressive showcase that pays tribute to fashion’s history, current trends, and what lies ahead.
