As a huge fan of Jorja Smith, I’ve been eagerly anticipating new music from her since the release of her exceptional album “falling or flying” last year. Her latest single, “High,” has not disappointed in the least. Smith’s ability to craft soulful and introspective songs that resonate deeply with listeners is truly a gift. In this track, she explores the concept of finding inner strength during difficult times, a theme that I believe many people can relate to.
Jorja Smith made an appearance on Childish Gambino’s “Bando Stone & The New World,” singing vocals on the popular track “In The Night” alongside Amaarae. Now, she’s unveiled her initial solo release of the year: a new single titled “High.” This optimistic yet introspective tune is Smith’s first studio output since her “falling or flying” album from last September. She subsequently released an updated version of the album in May.
“The summer hit ‘High’ is a personal composition of mine about discovering inner strength and joy even during difficult times, it’s all about finding those high moments.”

In a homey tune infused with melody, “High” is crafted by Smith’s long-term partners DAMEDAME*. Pondering in the pre-chorus, she asks, “Where can I go if I can’t escape? / I want to advance but don’t desire to stumble / So what?”
