The renowned American artist, Josh Smith, collaborated with Case Studyo on a recently unveiled sculpture titled “Even in the Deepest Despair, a Spark of Hope Still Resides Within Us“.
Originating from New York City, artist Smith gained recognition in the 2000s with his vivid paintings that intertwined his name as both a personal touch and a thematic basis, blurring the lines between creator and creation. Over the last two decades, however, Smith has shifted towards abstraction, manipulating common symbols such as fish, skeletons, and trees in a manner that highlights and honors the process of painting, rather than striving for conventional perfection.
In Smith’s recent work, he depicts the Grim Reaper in white porcelain, adorned with intricate black details spelling his name.
