Jurassic World Rebirth: First Footage Revealed! New Trailer Coming Wednesday

On this coming Wednesday, we will unveil the complete trailer for “Jurassic World Rebirth“, but before its official debut, here is a sneak peek featuring the initial clips from the dinosaur sequel. Scheduled to hit theaters on July 2, 2025, this seventh installment in the series introduces fresh faces like Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, and continues the story five years after the incidents portrayed in 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion”.

Thanks to Discussing Film on X, the teaser trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth (shown below) provides us with a brief look at Johansson’s character Zora Bennett, along with Dr. Henry Loomis played by Bailey. The two characters can be seen stepping out of dense jungle foliage to catch a glimpse of the tail of a colossal dinosaur. Johansson, an undercover operations specialist, is equipped in complete survival attire and carries a firearm, while Bailey’s paleontologist character dons a backpack, a flannel shirt with prints, and a utility vest.

Under the direction of Gareth Edwards (known for “Godzilla” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”), the upcoming film titled “Jurassic World Rebirth,” will not feature the return of Chris Pratt or Bryce Dallas Howard, instead opting for a fresh start as it embarks on a new chapter in the series. This installment aims to launch another trilogy, with the plot promising to delve deeper into past events and uncover hidden secrets, while simultaneously offering long-time fans an exciting dose of dinosaur action to keep them engaged.

Five years following Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s environment restricts dinosaurs to tropical regions. Zora Bennett, an expert in covert operations, heads a team tasked with retrieving genetic material from colossal dinosaurs for a crucial medication. Unfortunately, they become stranded during their mission and uncover a shocking secret that has been concealed for years.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Is a Way to “Start Over”

In my humble opinion as a film critic, “Jurassic World Rebirth” isn’t exactly a reboot of the entire franchise, but rather an opportunity for the series to start anew after the conclusion of the previous trilogy. Instead of picking up where we left off with familiar faces, this installment introduces us to all-new characters navigating the same thrilling universe. This fresh approach allows the story to continue its dynamic evolution, offering a sense of excitement and novelty for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

For writer David Koepp, this was more than just another sequel; it was a chance to press the reset button and breathe new life into the franchise. During his recent interview with Slash Film, he expressed that this project also served as a playground for him and producer Steven Spielberg to let their creative juices flow and have a blast in the process.

We acknowledged all events that transpired in the past. The upcoming movie is set within this realm, but we questioned how it might have evolved over the last five years, and who’s narrative it would now be. This provided an opportunity for a fresh start while continuing to explore the exciting playground of this universe with the energy and resources of a major studio. Essentially, it was the ideal scenario. And Steven and I got to engage in the most delightful aspect of filmmaking – brainstorming ideas like ‘What if…?’ and then letting our creativity run wild.

On the 5th of February, which is coming up this Wednesday, you can expect to see the complete trailer for “Jurassic World Rebirth” released. Contrary to some assumptions, it won’t be during the Super Bowl on the 9th of February. After that, the movie will officially premiere across North America on July 2nd, distributed by Universal Pictures.
