Jurassic World Rebirth: New T-Rex, Exotic Setting, and Terrifying Dinosaurs Revealed!

Prior to the unveiling of the first trailer scheduled for this week, Vanity Fair has been privy to a wealth of fresh insights about the forthcoming Universal Pictures production titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth.” The movie is helmed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on “The Creator” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Unlike its predecessors, this film promises to serve as a fresh start for the franchise, introducing an entirely new ensemble of characters, all while unfolding after the events of the last trilogy. With a new director at the helm and a novel creative direction, this upcoming movie could very well be the most thrilling (and terrifying) addition yet.

In the images you see below lies the unveiling of the primary characters in our latest production titled “Rebirth.” These include Zora (portrayed by Scarlett Johansson), Duncan (Mahershala Ali), and Henry (Jonathan Bailey). This team embarks on a journey to an isolated research lab, once part of Jurassic Park, situated on a distant island. Here, they stumble upon dinosaurs that have not only survived in seclusion but have also undergone modifications in their designs.

Showcasing dinosaurs such as the T-Rex, Spinosaurus, and Mosasaurus, the initial glimpses of “Jurassic World Rebirth” offer fresh interpretations of dinosaurs that have captivated audiences in various Jurassic films. In one of these sneak peeks, the iconic T-Rex sports a striped pattern, lending a unique twist to its imposing presence. Notably, the Spinosaurus, last seen in “Jurassic Park III”, returns and is poised as the main adversary in that movie. In one image, three Spino’s are depicted surrounding a boat on water, heightening the fear and suspense that viewers can anticipate from the upcoming film, scheduled for release later this year.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Wants To Bring a New Sense of Danger

In addition to introducing fresh characters and environments, “Jurassic World Rebirth” is planned to delve deeper into terrifying elements compared to previous installments. Director Gareth Edwards has expressed his intention to rekindle the tension and apprehension reminiscent of the original film, a goal shared by the project’s executive producers. Frank Marshall, producer for the Jurassic films, mentioned to Vanity Fair that for this new chapter in the series, they are venturing into unexplored lands both geographically and conceptually, stating:

I’ve consistently maintained that visual effects and CGI are powerful resources, yet they can foster complacency as one becomes aware of their limitless potential. It could potentially be risky. You’re in an unfamiliar environment, you don’t know what lies ahead. There might be new terrains, more water, higher cliffs, a bit of everything that’s intimidating.

The upcoming film, titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” could mark a revival in quality for the Jurassic Park series, which has garnered more commercial success than critical acclaim. The Jurassic World trilogy, with the exception of the first installment released in 2015, didn’t receive significant praise from critics in the realm of film analysis. Colin Trevorrow, who has demonstrated a knack for handling films heavy on special effects and creature features, is poised to bring a fresh, intense atmosphere to the Jurassic Park movies. He intends to make the dinosaurs appear more terrifying than ever before by combining practical and computer-generated effects.
