Jurassic World: Rebirth Teases Shocking Callback to Chris Pratt’s Dinosaur Horror

One chilling moment in the upcoming film “Jurassic World: Rebirth” is confirmed to be a tribute to another nerve-wracking event that took place during Chris Pratt’s tenure in “Jurassic World.” Directed by Gareth Edwards, “Jurassic World: Rebirth” promises to revitalize the series as it delves deeper into the mysteries of Jurassic Park. The plot follows a group of explorers seeking dinosaur DNA to create a cure for humanity, but upon arriving on the island (the research facility of Jurassic Park), they encounter dangerous dinosaurs, including a genetically modified monster called the Distortus Rex (D-Rex).

In the film “Jurassic World”, characters Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt, and Claire Dearing, portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard, encountered the same dreadful creature known as the Indominus Rex. This genetically modified monster wreaked havoc after its escape, causing a rampage. In the upcoming movie, “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, a death scene reminiscent of how the Indominus claimed the life of a park security officer in the original film is expected to be featured.

At exactly 0:25 into the latest preview for “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” a D-Rex is depicted, wielding its claws to roughly handle a researcher within an InGen lab.

A closer look at the mutant hybrid dinosaur shows the scientist being crushed to death. 

In this moment, we’re reminded of a nerve-wracking scene in Jurassic World, where the Indominus Rex seized Commander Hamada (played by Brian Tee) and tossed him around like a plaything.

This part recalls one of the scariest scenes from Jurassic World, featuring the Indominus Rex picking up Commander Hamada (Brian Tee) off the ground and playing with him as if he were a doll.

As a dedicated moviegoer, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the spectacle of the Indominus Rex, who seemed to toy with its meal in an unsettling display of power. However, what followed was far from playful – the fugitive dinosaur tragically crushed the commander beneath its feet.

In addition to the D-Rex, Jurassic World: Rebirth plans to present a variety of both fresh and recognizable dinosaurs, including the Titanosaurus, Mosasaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, and the legendary Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The film will depict Zora Bennett and a team of explorers and researchers setting out on an expedition to capture the DNA samples of the three biggest terrestrial, avian, and marine dinosaurs. But, their mission takes a dark twist when they stumble upon a nefarious secret that jeopardizes their lives.

In the movie “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, there’s an impressive ensemble of actors, with Scarlett Johansson playing Zora Bennett, Jonathan Bailey stepping into the role of Dr. Henry Loomis, Mahershala Ali portraying Duncan Kincaid, Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, Luna Blaise taking on Teresa Delgado, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo cast as Reuben Delgado.

Is The D-Rex Inspired by the Indominus Rex in Jurassic World?

It’s possible that there could be more than just a callback between the climax of “Jurassic World: Rebirth” featuring the two antagonistic dinosaurs and the kill sequence from “Jurassic World”. There may be other connections linking the two films as well.

It has been suggested that the D-Rex could have been InGen’s initial experiment in creating a hybrid dinosaur. However, due to things going awry during the process, they chose to leave this creature, now known as a monster, stranded on the island.

In the thrilling world of “Jurassic Park: Jurassic World,” I, as a dedicated fan, find myself contemplating an intriguing idea. Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong) might have refined the blueprint for creating the D-Rex, which could have paved the way for the birth of the Indominus Rex.
