Justice and Tame Impala Drop “Neverender” Music Video

As a gamer who grew up in the ’80s, I’ve always had a soft spot for vintage anime and psychedelic art. So when I stumbled upon the “Neverender” music video by Justice and Tame Impala, I was immediately captivated. The fusion of classic Art Nouveau aesthetics with Japanese anime is nothing short of mesmerizing, transporting me back to my childhood days spent glued to my TV screen, watching Akira or Dragon Ball Z.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over the recently released music video for the captivating collaboration between Justice and Tame Impala titled “Neverender.” This mesmerizing piece is nestled within Justice’s latest studio album, Hyperdrama. Enjoy the rhythmic journey!

The film titled “The visual,” directed by Masanobu Hiraoka and featuring Kota Iguchi and Armand Beraud, is marketed as a “wondrous voyage” into the minds of these two artists. They delve into the realm of “Hyperdrama” employing an animation technique that blends the elegant artistry of Art Nouveau with traditional Japanese anime aesthetics from the past.

In a statement, Justice expressed that the Neverender music video offered an ideal platform to express various visual inspirations in a distinctive manner, thanks to Masanobu Hiraoka’s unique interpretation. They worked alongside longtime collaborators Pascal Teixeira and Armand Beraud, finding initial inspiration from the title sequences of 1980s anime that we grew up with, which shaped the visual style for the video. Further influences from our teenage years, such as Moebius’ work, psychedelic art, graphic novels, and iconic film posters, gradually emerged, and Masanobu’s style skillfully combined and united these elements effortlessly.

This week, along with the debut of the music video, we’re excited to present a fresh EP titled “Neverender Remixes,” which will be available this coming Friday. The upcoming project features two brand-new edits by Justice and remixes by Kaytranada and Rampa from Keinemusik.

justice has been announced as a main act for the forthcoming Hypefest Hong Kong, slated for November 9th and 10th.
