This year, on Hrithik Roshan’s birthday, Rakesh Roshan’s directorial film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was re-released. This romantic movie introduced Hrithik Roshan to the world of acting, as it was his debut film. Given its immense popularity, figures from the underworld expressed interest in casting Hrithik for a movie they were funding.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan shared that following his son’s cinema debut, he was unexpectedly attacked in daylight Mumbai, as he exited his office. Remarkably, despite being hit by two bullets, this filmmaker chose to drive himself to the hospital and eventually made a full recovery.
Shortly thereafter, it was discovered that some criminal figures in the underworld were attempting to persuade Hrithik Roshan to star in a movie they were financing. However, as his father declined their offer, he had to deal with the repercussions. The director informed the press that he never gave any hint that Hrithik would work on their film, and instead continuously postponed them by stating that Hrithik was unavailable due to scheduling conflicts.
He was also requested to seize control over schedules of other producers and hand them over. However, the devoted father and movie creator declined this request as well. In his own words, “Once I had assigned my son’s schedule elsewhere, I stood firm against any attempts at coercion,” emphasizing that he never succumbed to the pressures exerted by figures associated with the criminal underworld.
Under the strain and apprehension brought about by the circumstances, some of them found themselves unable to engage in any creative pursuits. Consequently, producing a movie became nearly unattainable for them.
