Karan Arjun Box Office Collections First Weekend: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's reincarnation actioner zoom past Rs 1 crore

As a lifestyle expert with over three decades of immersion in Indian cinema, I must say that the re-release of Karan Arjun is a testament to its timeless appeal and the undying love of the audience for this iconic action drama. The fact that it managed to collect over Rs 1 crore in its opening weekend despite being released three decades after its initial premiere, speaks volumes about its enduring popularity.

In a new run at cinemas, the film Karan Arjun, helmed by director Rakesh Roshan, is maintaining its popularity and drawing crowds. Featuring two massive names of Indian cinema, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, alongside Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni, Rakhi, and Amrish Puri, this timeless action drama continues to resonate with audiences.

Karan Arjun zoom past Rs 1 crore mark in the first weekend

The opening day of the action drama about reincarnation earned approximately Rs 25 million at the box office. It then experienced a massive surge of 60% on Day 2 and raked in an additional Rs 40 million. The film saw only a slight increase on Sunday (Day 3) and broke the one-crore mark by earning another Rs 43 million, bringing its total box office collection to over Rs 100 million.

Over its first weekend, the movie Karan Arjun had amassed a net total of approximately 1.08 crores in the Indian cinema market.

Karan Arjun emerges as the 3rd biggest re-release opener

The 1995 blockbuster action movie continued to attract an audience even 30 years later, in 2024. However, a larger opening was anticipated for a film of such prestige and history. Regardless, it set new records. On its debut day, Karan Arjun became the third highest-grossing re-release of the year in Bollywood, earning over Rs 25 lakh.

For those unfamiliar, Sohum Shah’s mytho-horror film Tumbbad and Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu are ranked at the first and second positions, respectively.

It’s important to point out that the number of screens for all the re-releases varied. Notably, Karan Arjun is said to have had the broadest re-release in 2024, boasting a total of 1114 theatres within India and 250 cinemas beyond its borders.

It’s intriguing to observe if it can perform well in the upcoming 10 days at the cinema. Karan Arjun has the opportunity to maintain its run and achieve a good overall sum in cinemas. The way it performs during weekdays will decide if Rakesh Roshan’s film can be considered successful upon re-release.
