Kate Winslet, Kerry Washington, Annette Bening and Joey King Among 2024 WIF Honorees

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Hollywood, I can’t help but feel a surge of admiration upon witnessing this year’s WIF Honors lineup. The collective talent and dedication these women have displayed throughout their careers is nothing short of inspiring.

On Monday, it was revealed that the Women in Film (previously known as Women in Film, Los Angeles) will honor several prominent actresses from Hollywood at their 2024 WIF Honors ceremony, which is scheduled for October 24 at the Beverly Hilton hotel this year.

This year’s event will honor Annette Bening, Michelle Buteau, Joey King, Ellen Kuras, Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, Kerry Washington, and Kate Winslet. The theme of the occasion is “The Power of the Collective,” which highlights the influential figures in the industry who showcase that teamwork, inclusivity, and inspiring narratives have the power to shift culture positively.

At this year’s annual benefit event, Jurnee Smollett is set to make the opening speech. Notably, Kate Winslet and director Amma Asante (Kuras) will be bestowed with the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film for their joint project, “Lee.” Similarly, Tracee Ellis Ross (Buteau) and Nanfu Wang (Sanchez-Witzel) will receive the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Television for their collaboration on “Survival of the Thickest.

2024’s honorees truly encapsulate the spirit of leadership, originality, and activism that Women in Film (WIF) has been promoting for over half a century, as stated by WIF CEO Kirsten Schaffer. Their impressive accomplishments, not only in front of but also behind the camera, demonstrate the advancement we’ve made towards a more balanced and diverse entertainment sector. We are honored to recognize their successes and the impactful transformation they bring about.

The happening, which aids Women in Film’s educational initiatives, philanthropic projects, and campaign for gender equality in the entertainment industry, is organized by Max Mara, with Visionary Sponsor ShivHans Pictures, and further backed by Amazon MGM Studios, Lexus, Netflix, and STARZ under the banner of #TakeTheLead.
