Kenan Thompson has decided to share his recent health challenges, which he’s been dealing with privately for quite some time.

46-year-old comedian-actor, who has been a part of Saturday Night Live for over twenty years, recently revealed to People magazine that he’s been suffering from frequent heartburn, particularly after consuming acidic foods, for about two years now. This condition has been affecting his workdays on SNL.

As explained by the Mayo Clinic, this condition involves stomach acid frequently rising into the esophagus, a tube linking the mouth and stomach. This recurring rise of acid is commonly known as acid reflux.

Thompson acknowledged that he wasn’t aware there was a specific medical term for it. However, he expressed immediate relief once his doctor prescribed him Voquezna, a potassium-competitive acid blocker, for managing his long-term health issue.
