Kendrick Lamar's Engineer Details "High-Pressure" Process for His Drake Disses

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience navigating high-stakes, pressure-cooker environments, I can empathize with Nicolas de Parcel’s recollection of working on Kendrick Lamar’s Drake disses. The adrenaline rush, the nail-biting anticipation, and the exhilarating sense of euphoria that comes from being part of something monumental – it reminds me of those late-night gaming sessions when a raid boss drops or a crucial match is on the line.

Nicholas de Parcel, the skilled engineer behind some of Kendrick Lamar’s and Drake’s diss tracks, shared insights into his collaboration process with MixedByAli, a fellow audio mastermind.

The engineer described the “thrilling” real-time procedures of “euphoria,” “Meet The Grahams,” and “Not Like Us,” saying, “It was quite intense. I received a call and it felt like, ‘Keep yourself ready, you’re going to be working.’ As soon as I got the song, about six minutes would pass, and they’d ask, ‘What do you think?’ The situation was extremely high-pressure.”

De Parcel went on saying, “While Dot was putting out those records, I was submitting the final versions. It felt like they’d be released just twelve minutes afterwards…It was absolutely incredible.”

It’s worth mentioning that the song titled “Not Like Us” spent two separate weeks as number one on the charts and managed to sell over a million copies within approximately a month.
