Kesari Chapter 2: Akshay Kumar ensured R Madhavan didn’t feel sidelined just weeks before film’s release, find more

Recently, the movie “Kesari Chapter 2,” featuring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, debuted in theaters and has been performing well at the box office. The film received positive feedback for the exceptional acting of its stars. Interestingly, R. Madhavan shared that Akshay shot a ‘closure’ scene only two weeks before the movie’s release to avoid making Madhavan feel overlooked.

Indeed, that’s correct! In an interview with Mid-day, R. Madhavan shared an interesting story about Akshay Kumar. Two weeks before the release of Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay personally called him at 4 am. He said, “Our films are competing well, but in the end, my character comes out on top. I don’t want you to be left in the shadows.” Akshay wanted a closing scene that would ensure he wasn’t forgotten. So, he flew down from Chennai, and Madhavan came from Dubai. They shot this special scene just two weeks before the film hit the screens.

He also mentioned that when individuals put in extra effort on a project, it’s often an indication that the project is truly exceptional. Moreover, he highly commended Kesari Chapter 2, stating it will have an enduring influence, surpassing the boundaries of time. Notably, the actor from Shaitaan also drew parallels between this film and timeless classics such as Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots, expressing a strong intuition about their lasting significance.

In simpler terms, Madhavan stated that when they were filming 3 Idiots, he told director Rajkumar Hirani that it would be difficult to surpass that project. He expresses a similar sentiment now about the work of director Karan Singh Tyagi on Kesari Chapter 2.

Apart from stating this, R Madhavan expressed his preference for having a modest yet significant role in a larger narrative. He openly acknowledged that the movie’s success is what truly matters, rather than personal fame or stardom.

The actor from Hisaab Barabar remarked, “I don’t consider my fame too highly; this is why I select the films I make. If I did take it seriously, I’d worry about my screen time or who’s in front of me. Additionally, I’ve never asked my producers to enlarge my image on the movie poster.

In Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar portrays C Sankaran Nair, a character who confronts the British Raj’s attempts to minimize their involvement in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. On the other hand, R Madhavan assumes the role of Neville McKinley, a sharp legal representative standing up for the Crown.
