Kesari Chapter 2: Did you know Ananya Panday’s grandfather was separated from his father during partition? Actress reveals

Ananya Panday is getting ready for the debut of her upcoming film, Kesari Chapter 2. In this legal drama, she will be acting alongside Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Lately, Ananya has disclosed that she had listened to numerous tales about Jallianwala Bagh as well as the India-Pakistan division. Moreover, she confided that her grandfather was split from his father during the partition.

At the premiere of Kesari Chapter 2 in Delhi on April 3, 2025, Ananya Panday was queried about her historical knowledge of Jallianwala Bagh prior to filming. She admitted that all she knew was what she had learned from textbooks at school, which turned out to be quite limited and lacking in detail.

Ananya shared that she’d heard numerous tales from her grandma, including accounts about the Jallianwala Bagh incident and the Partition.

Ananya shared, “My grandfather and his father got split up due to the partition.” She also disclosed that her maternal family originated from Punjab.

Furthermore, Ananya mentioned that she learned quite a bit from the script of Kesari Chapter 2. During the movie’s storytelling, she recalled feeling surprised by certain aspects. She expressed her hope that the film would also broaden the viewers’ knowledge.

In a future role, Ananya Panday will portray Dilreet Gill in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. Her lawyer persona was previously showcased in a promotional video. Her character passionately declares, “It is crucial for the whole world to uncover the truth about what transpired at Jallianwala Bagh that fateful day.
