Kevin Conroy’s Final Batman Performance Has Been Released, And Fans Are Loving His Big Moment In The New Justice League Movie

As a longtime fan of Kevin Conroy and his iconic portrayal of Batman, I was deeply moved by his final appearance as the Dark Knight in “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three.” Having grown up watching Conroy’s Batman in various animated series, movies, and video games, it felt like the end of an era.

Warning: SPOILERS for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three are ahead!

On November 10, 2022, Kevin Conroy, who had voiced Batman for decades, passed away at the age of 66. Although he was no longer with us, fans were excited that they wouldn’t miss out on hearing his iconic voice as Batman one last time. Initially, it was thought that the video game “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” would be Conroy’s only posthumous DC project. However, it was later announced that he would make a final appearance as Batman in “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three.” This film is now available for purchase on digital platforms, and fans have been expressing their appreciation for his role in this movie set within the Tomorrowverse timeline.

In this final film of the Tomorrowverse, Jensen Ackles continues to voice the primary Batman. Yet, Earth-12’s Batman, brilliantly portrayed by Kevin Conroy, gets a chance to make an appearance and confront The Joker. Have a look (courtesy of @BVengeance267).

In the twilight of Earth-12’s existence, as an anti-matter wave threatened to wipe us out, I found myself face to face with the Joker, who took delight in the fact that he’d be my last adversary. With time running short, I retorted, “I can’t believe you think this is where we part ways, Clown Prince.”

As someone who’s spent my entire life watching Gotham City descend into chaos, I can’t help but feel deeply connected to its people and their plight for justice. The Joker, with his twisted sense of humor and anarchy, has long been a thorn in the side of this city and its guardian, Batman.

In Gotham City, the Dark Knight, Batman, clashed fists with his longtime adversary just as they both vanished from reality. Simultaneously, Aquaman, John Stewart as Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl (with Wonder Woman and Superman observing in the distance) were also erased, their last moment being a tender kiss between John and Hawkgirl. On X, formerly Twitter, fans have been expressing their admiration for Conroy’s final chapter of Batman’s story with @AmonWarmann commenting:

The fit between Kevin Conroy and the role of Batman is nearly inexpressible, it simply feels so appropriate. This makes for a fitting and gratifying conclusion.

@Bluenightbeyond agreed that this was a great line to bring Conroy’s Batman to a close, saying:

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but be moved to the brink of tears once more. The poignant closing words spoken so eloquently by Kevin Conroy in his final performance as this iconic character left me breathless. “And if this is the end, at least I get to leave as Batman.” What a fitting and powerful way for such an inspiring figure to say goodbye.

At Haydenbarton_39’s insistence, I’d like to add some depth to that intriguing statement he made. He argued that Conroy’s Batman expressing this particular line during the chaos of his crumbling universe was exceptionally powerful.

I can’t speak for everyone, but as a huge fan of Batman, what consistently draws me in is his unwavering bravery in the face of catastrophic situations. In an instant when he realizes that all is lost, instead of cowering in fear, he stands tall and proud, determined to fight on until his very last breath. That’s the essence of Batman, and it’s beautifully encapsulated by Kevin Conroy’s portrayal.

For those who have spent their childhoods with Conroy’s voice as Batman in “Batman: The Animated Series” and numerous other media, it’s no surprise that the conclusion of this era during “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three” stirs deep emotions within devoted fans like @millicay95.

I recently watched the final scene Kevin Conroy recorded for Batman in Crisis on Infinite Earths. This show was a significant part of my childhood (as you can tell!), making Kevin my beloved Batman. Cheers to you, Kevin, for all the memorable moments you brought to life.

Additionally, Michael Borkowski, a skilled storyboard artist, added his input by illustrating the design of this scene from “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three.”

“I’m deeply honored to have been chosen to storyboard the scene from ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3.’ Rest in peace, Kevin Conroy, who brought the greatest Batman to life.”

You can witness this thrilling scene along with many more action-filled moments by buying the digital version of “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three.” If you prefer a physical copy, mark your calendars for July 23 when the Blu-ray will be released. Additionally, it’s expected that the movie will be streamable with a Max subscription before the end of the year. Don’t forget to check out what’s next in the pipeline for DC movies as well.
