Kevin Smith's Reaction To Seeing Thanos Actor Josh Brolin In The Flesh Is So Relatable

As a seasoned gamer who’s been around the block more times than I can count, I must admit that Kevin Smith’s star-struck reaction to meeting Josh Brolin was completely relatable. I mean, who among us wouldn’t get a little starry-eyed at the sight of Thanos himself? It was like watching a kid in a candy store, and frankly, I don’t blame him one bit!

Kevin Smith’s films strike a chord with viewers, securing his position in cinema history. Yet, he remains an ardent fan at heart, often moved or even tearful when encountering those he admires. A recent example of this happened at a convention, where Smith was the one being adored by fans, yet he was equally excited about meeting Josh Brolin, the actor who played Thanos. Smith’s response to the encounter was incredibly relatable.

A 54-year-old movie director was among the numerous attendees at New York Comic Con. At this event, he snapped pictures with numerous enthusiastic fans together with his longtime friend and acting partner, Jason Mewes. The director of Clerks documented his adventures by posting on Instagram, and the initial image in his series captures him next to the Academy Award-nominated actor from Dune. Take a look at the heartwarming photo below, as well as other fantastic fan photos:

To put it simply, it’s hard not to share the same enthusiasm when encountering the actor who brilliantly brings the Mad Titan of Marvel Cinematic Universe to life. Honestly, Kevin Smith appeared to be more excited than a child on candy day, and I can understand why. I’ve had my fair share of celebrity interactions in my experience, and I’ve always maintained my composure. Yet, I must admit, I too would be quite thrilled to meet Mr. Brolin, as Smith seems to have been.

Additionally, it’s fascinating to learn about the story behind the meeting between the director of Dogma and Josh Brolin. In a unique twist, the star of Comic Book Men shared this tale via his caption, while simultaneously crediting the fans. This anecdote also sheds light on how the paths of the No Country for Old Men actor and him crossed.

Previously, I found myself behind the scenes at the New York Comic Con. As I chatted with Jason Mewes about how celebrities don’t excite me much, suddenly my attention was diverted when I spotted Josh Brolin. In a heartbeat, I dashed towards him. You see, there are well-known figures, and then there’s Thanos – that’s just a fact!

Kevin Smith Interview | Stan Lee Cameo, Ben Affleck, ‘The 4:30 Movie’ & More

Kevin Smith has had the opportunity to interact with many well-known celebrities throughout his career, and he’s managed to form close friendships with several of them. For instance, he developed a strong friendship with the late, revered Stan Lee, who made a memorable appearance in the movie “Mallrats“. Smith also had a friendly relationship with the esteemed Alan Rickman, to the extent that they would chat about ordinary, everyday topics. An amusing story involves Rickman sharing with Smith how he learned that fellow “Harry Potter” cast member Ralph Fiennes resided nearby and was worried that fans might discover this and flock to their shared living area.

It’s uncertain whether the creator of “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” and Josh Brolin (who is rumored to reprise his role as Thanos) will become close friends. Regardless, it would be splendid if they did become friends and potentially work together in the future. If their paths don’t cross professionally, I can only wish that their encounter at Comic Con sets the stage for an endearing friendship.

To watch all of Josh Brolin’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) performances as Thanos, you just need to stream the Marvel films consecutively using a Disney+ membership.
