As a long-time fan who has witnessed the Kardashian clan’s journey from reality TV stardom to global phenomena, I must admit that Kim Kardashian’s latest music video for “Santa Baby” left me scratching my head more than once. The video, which seemed to be a surreal blend of Christmas carnival, nightclub and crackhouse (I kid you not), was an odd departure from the sleek, glamorous aesthetics we’re accustomed to seeing from Kim.
Kim Kardashian unveiled her rendition of “Santa Baby” on Sunday evening, which came with an unusual music video.
The video captures Kardashian moving on all fours through a house that seems to be hosting a Christmas celebration. Kardashian is dressed in a blonde wig, a blue cardigan, pink leg warmers, high heels, and what appears to be her own Skims brand shapewear.
In this game I’m playing, there are various intriguing vignettes unfolding. Here I am, a gamer, observing a lady in Mary’s attire next to a donkey, an elf-dressed gent perched on a kitchen counter munching from a bowl, scantily clad women engaged in a game of Twister, someone meticulously pruning a tree down almost bare, and a woman swimming in what seems like an enormous water tank. Adding to the mix, there’s a man getting a haircut, lots of cash scattered around – I see a man counting money, another scene shows someone vacuuming up cash off the floor, and yet another depicts two individuals having a physical altercation as cash flies around them.
The scene concludes with a shot featuring someone dressed as Santa Claus holding a camera before his own face. Upon pulling back the camera, it becomes apparent that this costumed Santa is none other than Macaulay Culkin, famous for his role in Home Alone.
Many people commented on the bizarre nature of the video on Kardashian’s Instagram post.
“One person wrote, ‘What on earth is this about methamphetamine and Christmas?’ Another commented, ‘Does anyone else feel like this is giving off demonic vibes…?’ A third added, ‘I think Kim just went through a crackhouse.’ One more said, ‘Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should…’.
The popular song by Kardashian, reminiscent of Eartha Kitt’s tune, was manufactured by her brother-in-law Travis Barker, who is married to Kardashian’s sister Kourtney. Kardashian shared that the video was helmed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis in its creation.

Kim Kardashian has ventured into the world of music before. Back in 2010, she released a music video for a track called “Jam (Turn It Up)”. Unlike her albums, this was just a single release, and she announced that she would donate half of the earnings to charity.
