Following the news of Joss’ demise, which broke on Monday, his partner, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, finally spoke up about the heartbreaking incident. In a post made on Jonathan Joss’ official Facebook page, Kern de Gonzales revealed fresh details regarding what led to Joss’ passing.

In a Facebook post, Kern de Gonzales shared their experience of a shooting occurring at the location of their old residence, which they had visited to pick up mail. Unfortunately, this house had been destroyed by fire in January, following years of threats from neighbors who repeatedly warned they would set it ablaze. Kern de Gonzales further stated, “For over two years, we were subjected to frequent harassment from people who made it clear they disapproved of our relationship. A significant portion of this hostility was openly discriminatory against our sexual orientation.

The text goes on, “Upon returning to the location to retrieve our mail, we found one of our dog’s skull and harness laid out in full view. This sight was incredibly upsetting for both of us, causing intense emotional turmoil. We reacted with shouting and tears, expressing our sorrow over what we had witnessed. In the midst of this, a man confronted us. He started hurling abusive homophobic remarks at us. Then, he pulled out a gun from his lap and shot.

According to Kern de Gonzales, neither he nor Jonathan had any weapons. They weren’t intending to harm anyone; they were in a state of grief. They stood together, side by side. In that moment, when the man opened fire, Jonathan shoved me out of the way. He sacrificed himself to save my life.

Kern de Gonzales went on to say, “Jonathan is my spouse. He showered me with more love during our relationship than many people receive in a lifetime. As newlyweds, we chose Valentine’s Day. We were in the middle of searching for a trailer and mapping out our future. Sadly, someone who resented two men expressing their love took his life. I was with him when he passed. I expressed to him how deeply he was cherished.

To all who stood by him, his supporters, his companions, please understand how much he cherished you. He viewed you as part of his family,” he said in conclusion. “Right now, I’m dedicated to preserving Jonathan’s memory and upholding the life we shared. If your interest lies in how someone handles trauma or their volume when narrating injustice, being overlooked by authorities, then perhaps you didn’t truly appreciate my husband. Jonathan was instrumental in saving my life. I will carry that forward. I will safeguard what he established.

Jonathan Was Shot Months After Family Home Was Lost to a Fire

Spread the word that an altercation led to Joss’s fatal shooting, yet specifics about the dispute were not disclosed. Additionally, it was revealed that Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega allegedly fired multiple shots at Joss and then escaped. The police later apprehended him a block from the crime scene, and he has been indicted for murder. His bail is fixed at $200,000. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

In the second season, Joss stepped in as the voice actor for John Redcorn on the show “King of the Hill.” This role was previously played by Victor Aaron, who passed away in 1996. After his death, Aaron had recorded lines for the character. From then on, Joss handled the role for the remainder of the series. As per recent news, Joss has finished some voiceovers for the character ahead of its reappearance this coming summer.
