Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode Arrives Next Week

Last month saw a significant update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by Warhorse Studios, featuring over a thousand bug fixes and the addition of Barber Mode to customize Henry’s hairstyle. However, there’s been no mention yet about when Hardcore Mode will be available. The game’s official Twitter hinted at its arrival next week, but the exact date is still unknown.

In my gaming world, they’ve added some intriguing options for a tougher playthrough, the Hardcore run. These are called negative perks, each one introducing its own twist. Last month, during a developer livestream, I learned that Bad Back limits the amount of loot I can carry and occasionally makes it painful to gather herbs or mushrooms. Heavy-Footed increases the noise I make and speeds up shoe wear. Numbskull reduces experience gain by 20%. And so on, these challenges make the game more immersive.

In a Hardcore run, you need to select three disadvantages from a list of ten before beginning. The game mode also reduces useful user interface features, disables fast travel, takes away cardinal directions from the compass, and doesn’t display your location on the map.

Keep an eye out for further updates about the patch, particularly its launch date, within the next few days. Meanwhile, grab yourself a copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, now playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. Don’t miss our in-depth review, where we awarded it a rating of nine out of ten.
