As a gamer who’s been through countless high school dramas in virtual worlds, I must say the trailer for XO, Kitty season 2 has me hooked! The blend of love, friendship, and the intrigue of uncovering family secrets feels like an epic quest that I can’t wait to follow along.
Just this morning, I woke up to the exciting news that Netflix has finally released the trailer for season two of the captivating dramedy series, “XO, Kitty.” As a devoted gamer and lover of great storytelling, I can’t wait to dive back into this engaging world!
The romantic comedy-drama series, derived from Netflix’s “To All the Boys” trilogy, focuses on Kitty Song Covey, played by Anna Cathcart, as she navigates her teenage years filled with love and friendship at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (commonly known as KISS). In this school, she experiences a unique blend of love stories and friendships.
The trailer displays Kitty, along with her companions, resuming their studies at KISS for a fresh academic term. Determined to evolve as “Kitty 2.0” during this new phase, she expresses her intentions to focus on academics and uncover the truth about her mother’s identity, as she declares in the trailer, “The last semester was filled with so much turmoil. This time around, I’ve set my priorities straight – I’m diving into my studies and unraveling the mystery of who my mom truly was.
In the finale of XO, Kitty, a romantic quadrangle unfolded as Kitty split from her boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi), due to her growing affection towards her transformed foe-turned-ally Yuri (Gia Kim). Unfortunately, Kitty couldn’t express her feelings for Yuri before Yuri’s ex Julianna (Regan Aliyah) reappeared. To complicate matters further, Kitty’s past rival and unwilling housemate Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) admitted his romantic interest in her.
In the upcoming season of “XO, Kitty,” some fresh characters will be introduced, but there’s a big twist for fans of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.” Netflix has announced that Noah Centineo will reappear in the second season, once again playing the beloved character Peter Kavinsky. Clad in a Stanford sweatshirt, Peter is seen embracing Kitty in the trailer. In the series, he tells her, “You are Kitty Song Freakin’ Covey, don’t ever forget it.
Working with Anna once more was fantastic, as she’s incredibly gifted and her dedication is evident in every scene,” Centineo expressed to Netflix’s Tudum.com. “Re-entering the world of To All The Boys was a delight, and I hope our wonderful audience appreciates seeing Peter just as much as I did.
XO, Kitty‘s showrunner, Jessica O’Toole, says the chance to include Peter in the show was so exciting. “I can’t wait for the fans to see Peter interact with some of their favorite XO, Kitty characters and to see all of the other juicy surprises we have in store… including some big moments fans have been waiting for and others they will never see coming,” she said to Netflix’s Tudum.com.
Hey there, Kitty! The second season of the show has been greenlit merely four weeks following its premiere, which garnered a staggering 72 million viewing hours globally within its initial week, as per data from Netflix’s internal records.
Jenny Han, the author behind the popular “To All the Boys” series, was the one who initially created it. In the role of showrunner and writer for the second season of “XO, Kitty,” we have Jessica O’Toole. They, along with Matt Kaplan from ACE Entertainment, serve as executive producers for this production, which hails from Awesomeness Studios.
