As a die-hard fan who has followed Varun Dhawan’s journey since his debut days, I must say this is a new chapter in my favorite star’s life that fills me with immense joy! The announcement of his daughter’s name, Lara, adds another layer of excitement to my fandom.
In June 2024, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal embarked on the adventure of parenthood by welcoming their baby girl into their lives. Approaching the five-month mark, the actor has finally unveiled his daughter’s name in a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, which aired on October 30. Here, we delve into the meaning behind the name Lara, which also shares an interesting connection with Citadel.
The name Lara is known to have origins in Latin, Greek, and Russian languages, carrying multiple interpretations such as “protection,” “citadel,” and “cheerful.” (Thebump.com)
It originates from the word ‘lares’ which refers to the individual gods of Roman households, who were the protectors of homes and fields. The word is a diminutive of Larissa, which means citadel or fortress in Greek.
Previously this year, Varun Dhawan used Instagram to share the news about the arrival of his and Natasha Dalal’s first baby. He posted a video featuring an animated representation of their pet dog Joey holding a sign stating, “Welcome Lil’ Sis.” The video further disclosed her birth date, which is June 3, 2024.
It also contained a message from the proud parents which stated, “We are overjoyed with this new blessing in our lives. During this special time, we request the media to give us our privacy. Thank you for your support & understanding. Natasha & Varun.”
Here’s the scene: The actor conveyed, “Behold our little girl has arrived! We appreciate your well-wishes towards both mommy and baby.” Take a peek!
For the past few days, Varun Dhawan has been actively promoting his upcoming series titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny.” This spy series is the Indian adaptation set within the Citadel Universe.
