Korg Revives the Handy Trax With New Portable Record Players

Korg has revamped the iconic portable turntable known as Handy Trax, introducing the Handytraxx series in partnership with the late Toshihide Nakama, one of its original designers. The fresh lineup encompasses three unique models catering to various sectors of the vinyl market: the Handytraxx Play, Handytraxx Tube, and Handytraxx 1bit.

Suitable for disc jockeys, the Handytraxx Play boasts high-end characteristics such as a crossfader, adjustable EQ and filter knobs, delay effects, and an integrated audio looper. Its reversible control panel caters to both left- and right-handed users, and it comes equipped with built-in 2.5-watt speakers for versatility. Additionally, it offers power choices like an AC adapter or six AA batteries, providing flexibility in usage.

As a music enthusiast myself, I can’t help but sing praises for the Handytraxx Tube! It harnesses Korg’s remarkable Nutube vacuum tube technology to produce a lush, warm sound that truly resonates with me. The die-cast aluminum platter and adjustable tonearm ensure an accurate playback experience, making every note I listen to crisp and clear. To top it all off, the limited edition Tube J model takes things up a notch with a premium JICO Clipper MM Cartridge that elevates the entire listening experience. It’s like having a personal symphony right at my fingertips!

This top-tier Handytraxx 1bit device is designed specifically for record keepers and audio conservation specialists. Employing Korg’s AudioGate 4 software, it records vinyl in the Direct Stream Digital (DSD) format at an astonishing 5.6 million samples per second, guaranteeing superior sound quality for archival purposes. It boasts a range of advanced features such as a universal tonearm, interchangeable headshell, and Nutube technology.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that all Handytraxx models bring convenience, as they’re portable, equipped with built-in speakers, and battery-powered for uninterrupted gaming on the go! The launch is scheduled for May 2025, followed by the Tube J model in June. If you can’t wait to get your hands on one, preorders are already live on their webstore!
