Over time, fans who keep up with the Kardashian-Jenner clan have developed a sense of each member’s unique character. Kim thrives on being in the limelight, whereas Kendall finds it difficult, and Kourtney seems indifferent about public opinion… until her kids become part of the discussion. The eldest of the reality TV family, in response to a wild rumor circulating regarding her son Mason, has taken to social media to clarify that it’s “not true.
The Kardashians may be in the middle of a new season on the 2025 TV schedule, but that’s not where the real drama is. Over the past few days, social media profiles have begun to circulate of a person/people claiming to be 15-year-old Mason Disick — the oldest child of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. On the accounts, this person claims to have a 1-year-old daughter named Piper. Kourtney took to Instagram Stories to deny that she has secretly become a grandmother, writing:
Beyond denying the claim that her son is a teen father, Kourtney Kardashian also criticized everyone who creates videos featuring her kids, which include Mason, Penelope (aged 12), Reign (aged 10), and Rocky XIII Barker (aged 1).
Since debuting their new reality series, “The Kardashians,” in 2022 (available with a Hulu subscription), Kourtney Kardashian has become more vigilant about safeguarding her children’s privacy. In fact, the family has ceased posting recent photos of Mason on social media due to his explicit preference. Even Kim Kardashian faced criticism for seemingly disregarding his wishes when she shared birthday content related to him.
Mason Disick is absent from the show “The Kardashians” and has been living with his father Scott Disick for a couple of years now. Similarly, Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker, like Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger, refrain from sharing their son Rocky’s face on social media platforms.
On another occasion, Kourtney Kardashian has had to address Instagram accounts falsely claiming to represent Mason. In 2022, a phony account spread a rumor about Kylie Jenner’s wedding (which was not true), and Kardashian criticized the creators of such fake profiles, calling them “extremely intrusive.” I completely concur with her sentiments.
While Mason Disick does have an official Instagram profile now, the latest post is from June 2024, and even there, the teenager rarely shows his face. He has even cautioned his cousin North West in the past, texting Kim Kardashian after he saw her daughter doing Instagram Live videos around their house without supervision.
It’s truly unsettling when strangers impersonate your children, especially given the level of fame enjoyed by families like the Kardashian-Jenners. As Kourtney highlighted, she usually ignores public commentary about herself and her siblings, but drawing them into such discussions is off limits.
Every Thursday, I eagerly tune into Hulu to catch up with the exciting lives of the renowned Kardashian family in their latest episodes.
