‘Krapopolis,’ ‘Grimsburg’ and ‘Universal Basic Guys’ Extended at Fox

Fox is strengthening its collection of animated shows by extending the contracts for “Krapopolis,” “Grimsburg,” and “Universal Basic Guys.

The three upcoming animated shows, namely Krapopolis and Universal Basic Guys, along with the unspecified third one, will continue airing until the 2025-26 season. For Krapopolis and Universal Basic Guys, this extension even goes beyond that period. These new additions are produced by Bento Box Entertainment, a subsidiary of Fox, and they join the established four series – Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Simpsons, and American Dad – which were all recently renewed for an impressive four seasons in April. Notably, American Dad is making its comeback to Fox, where its initial nine seasons initially aired, following over a decade on TBS.

The animated comedy “Krapopolis,” created by Dan Harmon, is due to conclude its second run this month. This show, set in an ancient Greece teeming with humans, gods, and mythical beings, has already been renewed for multiple seasons in the past. The most recent renewal will extend its run up until its fifth season.

The show Universal Basic Guys secured a renewal for its second season even before its September debut, and it’s already confirmed that there will be a third season. Similarly, the series Grimsburg, currently airing its second season, has also been granted a third season.

At this moment, only one animated television show remains uncertain about its future at Fox, and that’s “The Great North.” This series is now in its fifth season, with episodes scheduled to air throughout the summer months.

Towns named Krapopolis and Grimsburg, respectively, belong to Fox Entertainment Studios, whereas Universal Basic Guys is a joint production between Fox and Sony Pictures Television.

Deadline first reported the renewals.
