During the time leading up to the release of “Before Dawn,” an historically significant World War I film produced in Australia, we had a conversation with Australian actor Levi Miller. In this movie, Miller portrays a conflicted soldier who is determined to keep himself and his fellow soldiers alive amidst the harsh realities of war. Miller spoke with movie web, sharing, “I don’t want to reveal much about that project just yet. But I have portrayed younger characters before, and it’s an intriguing experience to take on such roles since it requires finding the right balance.”
Miller continued regarding the production of Kraven the Hunter:
“I’ve never worked on a superhero project before, so this is a new and amusing experience for me. I made this film not long after finishing ‘Before Dawn,’ an independent production in Australia. Although I have worked on larger budget productions previously, there’s always an exhilarating feeling when starting something new.”
The ‘Immersive’ Feel of Before Dawn
Before Kraven the Hunter hits theaters, audiences can look forward to watching Miller portray Jim in Before Dawn. Set prior to Kraven’s debut, this film follows a young farmer named Jim who is compelled to join the military and experience the horrors of World War I, particularly in the infamous trenches. The narrative jumps between past and present, offering insight into Jim’s morally sound but progressively disturbed character through thought-provoking flashbacks.
Miller reflected on his preparation for portraying his lead role, sharing, “The trenches they constructed and the overall setting proved most beneficial to me. Sharing this experience with Jim deeply influenced my ability to connect with the challenges portrayed. It was an incredibly absorbing atmosphere, filled with other men experiencing this for the first time and donning heavy uniforms – a significant aspect of my preparation.”
