Kristen Wiig and Bill Murray will be appearing together in an upcoming funny film titled “Epiphany“. This movie is directed by Max Barbakow, who is known for his work on “Palm Springs” and “Brothers“.
On Tuesday, Rocket Science announced that Wiig and Murray will join as executive producers alongside Jillian Apfelbaum and Margot Hand. Mitch Glazer, known for his work on ‘The Recruit’ and ‘Scrooged’, is responsible for writing the script.
In this arrangement, CAA Media Finance and Range Media Partners are responsible for handling the domestic rights, while Rocket Science takes care of the international distribution. This week, they are showcasing the exciting new project at the European Film Market in Berlin.
In a twist of fate, I, a wealthy heiress and fashion enthusiast, find myself penniless overnight. With just two weeks left to secure a rich spouse or risk homelessness, I stumble upon eccentric billionaire Oz Bell. He’s a math genius but craves the spontaneity I offer. As we both seek something more, can this unusual pair navigate their way towards love and financial stability?
Barbakow expressed: “It’s a special, enjoyable sensation when a tale transports you to an adventure that simultaneously provokes laughter, touches your emotions, and reflects the amusing eccentricities of daily existence. It’s even more enchanting when your travel companions are Bill Murray and Kristen Wiig. However, Epiphany encompasses this range of emotion, offers profound insights, and presents such a rich cinematic potential, all while preparing iconic roles for the already-iconic and uniquely original unicorns that are Kristen and Billy.
In their initial venture into filmmaking, Max Barbakow’s movie titled Palm Springs made headlines by securing a then-unprecedented deal with Neon and Hulu at Sundance. This film went on to garner two Golden Globe nominations and eventually took home the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy.
The EFM will run Feb. 13 to Feb. 19 this year.
