Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris Join ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Cast

Dexter: Resurrection is continuing to fill in its ranks.

Actors Krysten Ritter and Neil Patrick Harris will be making appearances on the Showtime series as part of the main cast.

In the latest development, Ritter is set to portray the character named “Mia,” and Harris will take on the role of “Lowell.” At this time, no further information regarding these characters is being disclosed.

The show, currently being filmed, brings Michael C. Hall back to reprise his role as Dexter Morgan, the character he became known for in the original Dexter series that debuted on Showtime in 2006 and ran for eight seasons. This new chapter in the Dexter saga, titled “Dexter: Resurrection”, is set to air this summer.

After the return of the “Dexter: New Blood” series, a prequel titled “Dexter: Original Sin” debuted last year and wrapped up its run last month. The final episode of “Original Sin” was viewed by 2.68 million people worldwide, making it Showtime’s most-streamed global original series in the past decade.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the ending of Original Sin and potential plans for a second season as well as the future of the franchise, showrunner Clyde Phillips hinted at the cast for Resurrection, saying “You’re in for a surprise when you see the cast announcements. It’s going to be a major revelation.

Ritter is known for his roles in “Love & Death”, Marvel’s “Jessica Jones”, “Sonic 3”, “Orphan Black: Echoes”, and “Breaking Bad”. On the other hand, Harris has been seen in “Gone Girl” and the latest “Doctor Who” anniversary special. Additionally, he has taken on leading roles in “Uncoupled”, “It’s a Sin”, and “How I Met Your Mother”.

The following actors have been added to the previously announced cast: Uma Thurman plays Charley, David Zayas reprises his role as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott returns as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine portrays Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf joins the team as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa takes on the role of Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez is Elsa Rivera, and James Remar returns to play Dexter’s father Harry Morgan. Lastly, Peter Dinklage has been cast as Leon Prater.

The revival series, titled “Dexter: Resurrection“, is once again overseen by its initial showrunner, Phillips, and he resumes his role as the showrunner. This production is a joint effort between Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.

Hall additionally serves as an executive producer, joining Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns in this role. Marcos Siega functions as the producing director. Monica Raymund will oversee direction for four episodes, while Siega directs six. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Hall is one of the executive producers along with others. Marcos Siega is the main producer, and Monica Raymund will direct some episodes, while Marcos directs most of them. The series comes from Paramount’s distribution department.

Ritter is represented by Industry Entertainment, Principal Entertainment LA, CAA, and Brecheen Feldman, whereas Harris is represented by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
