Lady Gaga Addresses Harsh ‘Joker 2’ Reviews: “People Just Sometimes Don’t Like Some Things”

Lady Gaga is attempting to maintain a cheerful expression despite the unfavorable reception from viewers towards the movie “Joker: Folie à Deux“.

In a chat with Elle magazine that went live on Tuesday, the celebrity shared her thoughts about Todd Phillips’ latest movie release, which didn’t receive favorable reviews and struggled financially when Warner Bros. put it out in October. This new film is a continuation of the 2019 blockbuster hit, “Joker”, where Lady Gaga plays Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Arthur Fleck, famously known as the main antagonist from DC Comics.

In his critique for The Hollywood Reporter, lead movie critic David Rooney described the sequel as “uneven,” yet recognized Gaga’s acting prowess: “Gaga presents a captivating, electric persona, skillfully balancing affection and fixation. She infuses Arthur with newfound energy, making him hum ‘When You’re Smiling’ on his journey to court. Their musical performances, whether duets or solos, bring an infectious vigor that the movie, which tends to be gloomy, greatly benefits from.
