The collaboration between Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars titled “Die With a Smile” has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This heartfelt ballad, which was launched in August, represents the sixth track for Lady Gaga on the Hot 100, while it’s number nine for Bruno Mars.
In November, the track climbed to No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart for four consecutive weeks following its debut at No. 3 in late August. After holiday tunes dominated the top 10, the original hits reclaimed their positions from December 27, 2024, to January 2, 2025. The song re-entered the chart during its 20th week, taking the No. 1 spot and marking Teddy Swims’ 32nd week at the top with “Lose Control.
In the last three decades, Lady Gaga has achieved numerous number one hits on the Hot 100 chart. This new song places her at the top of the list for the second time in the 2020s, while she also had two number ones each in the ’10s and ’00s. Bruno Mars, on the other hand, has a second number one single this decade with “Leave the Door Open” under Silk Sonic, which was released in 2021. The Hot 100 list also saw a significant rise for BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ and her collaboration with Bruno Mars titled “APT,” moving from the 34th position to number 5 this week, surpassing its previous peak at number 8. This week alone, “Die With a Smile” garnered 59.7 million radio airplay audience impressions, 27.1 million official streams, and was purchased 6,000 times in the U.S.
