It seems Lady Gaga has poured her heart and soul into embodying Lee, such that even Michael Polansky, who wasn’t on the Joker 2 set, felt a connection to the character. This connection eventually led to the creation of Harlequin. Furthermore, Gaga shared that her interpretation of Harley Quinn is designed to champion “complex female characters,” emphasizing the importance of such roles in storytelling.
