Summary

  • Lamborghini showcased rare classics at Lake Como’s top car events
  • A 1972 Miura SV and Countach LP400 S “Pace Car” starred
  • The Pace Car received official certification from Lamborghini Polo Storico at Fuoriconcorso

Over the weekend, the spotlight shone brightly on Lamborghini at the high-end automotive events held at Lake Como’s esteemed venues, namely the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and Fuoriconcorso. The luxury brand showcased a blend of sophistication and racing legacy. Notable among these displays was the legendary 1981 Countach LP400 S “Pace Car,” which was officially authenticated by Lamborghini Polo Storico during a formal presentation at Villa Grumello, following a handover ceremony.

At the 1981 Monaco Grand Prix, the Countach was employed as the Safety Car. Now, it’s joining a vintage Diablo SVR and an uncommon Lamborghini Formula 1 vehicle in Fuoriconcorso’s “Velocissimo” exhibition, which highlights racing. The not-yet-fully-certified SVR and the single-seater from Formula 1 are boosting Lamborghini’s powerful presence on the racetrack, reflecting the deep-rooted connection between Lamborghini and motorsport.

At the neighboring Villa d’Este, a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV, painted red and authenticated by Polo Storico in 2018, was showcased. This particular Miura participated in Class C, which honors post-war European sports cars. Being the sole Lamborghini at the event, it drew attention not just for its striking design but also for its genuine history and lineage.

The double involvement emphasizes Lamborghini’s dedication to respecting its history while continuing to play a prominent part in the premier global events for classic cars and motor racing competitions.
