In the storyline, Sinestro served as Jordan’s mentor after he inherited the power ring of the dying Green Lantern, Abin Sur, to step into his role within the Corps. Sinestro’s rebellious streak, aspirations, and thirst for power ultimately led him to renounce his green power ring in favor of a yellow one, which was bestowed upon him by the Weaponers of Qward.

HBO’s “Lanterns” hasn’t been given an official launch date as of now, but it’s anticipated to debut around 2026.
