Late-Night Hacks on L.A. Riots – Riots? What Riots?

Approximately five years ago, comedians such as John Oliver and Seth Meyers who hosted shows at night often minimized or understated the extensive damage linked with Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

This is a summary of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” portrayal of the continuous Portland protests that erupted after George Floyd’s death in March 2020.

The authorities employed graffiti as a cover to dispatch undercover police officers to an American city, where they seized demonstrators in unmarked vehicles without providing any information about their destination, charges, or identities. The truth is far more alarming; these officials are apprehending peaceful protesters indiscriminately, kidnapping individuals and withholding all details regarding the accusations against them.

Previously on “Last Week Tonight,” host John Oliver mirrored Meyer’s viewpoints from 2020. In fact, he took it a step further by criticizing Fox News for accurately reporting the story.

Does this sound familiar? It appears that the main arguments have remained consistent since 2020, with similar progressive ideas being voiced in response to the recent unrest in L.A. regarding ICE officers carrying out legal raids.

Once more, it’s repeating, and by now, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Late-night commentators leaning left manipulate facts to align with their progressive stories. These are the very individuals who misrepresented President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities for over four years.

Pretending riots aren’t riots is a cakewalk for them.

This past week, Stephen Colbert lightheartedly addressed the riots through a comedic “routine,” satirically criticizing President Trump over a small trip on the Air Force One steps.

Currently, it appears that Jimmy Kimmel is once more leading his audience astray by claiming that there are no riots taking place. He offers evidence for this assertion, instead.

Look outside his posh studio. No riots.

Really.

I’m quite upset and I must express it. Frankly, I can hardly believe what’s transpiring. I had anticipated things would be difficult, but not to this extent. Lifelong residents, individuals who have been part of this city for longer than myself, the majority of whom have led honest lives, are being taken away forcefully. The appropriate term is “abducted.” These agents, masked and concealing their identities, snatch people from the streets and workplaces, transporting them to detention centers.

As an ardent movie critic, I feel compelled to express my sentiments about the current state of affairs. It’s not just our privilege as Americans, but our duty to voice our dissent, and that’s exactly what Los Angelenos did recently. They peacefully gathered to protest, with rare exceptions, against this deplorable and unwarranted misuse of power by our president, who seems determined to escalate the situation. He appears to thrive on conflict, intentionally stirring up tension and spreading lies to make it seem like a war is imminent. It’s alarming that he doesn’t seem to care about the potential casualties in this ordeal, as long as the chaos continues.

Outside, it’s peaceful. However, we tend to experience what some might call ‘uproar’ or excitement within our premises when one of our teams emerges victorious in a championship.

He doesn’t hold resentment towards those who vandalized businesses, the individuals who attempted to harm police officers with thrown bricks, or any others who engaged in lawlessness and violence among the “peaceful demonstrators.

Nor did he shed one of his many tears over the victims of illegal immigrant crime in recent years.

It’s noteworthy that there aren’t any jokes in his rant. He is a comedian, at least on paper.

To be fair, propagandists put yuks way down on the priority list.
