Late-Night Lunacy Reaches Staggering New Levels

Stephen Colbert spent years spreading one of the worst political lies in recent memory.

The late-night talk show host took a bold stance by fully embracing the unfounded Russia Collusion Allegations, even referring to President Donald Trump as a “puppet” of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Later, as the deception unraveled in front of everyone, he failed to offer even a straightforward “I’m sorry” to his company’s audience.

Nothing.

Rachel Maddow is particularly egregious in this regard. In fact, she played a role in the MSNBC apparatus that perpetuated the same deception every evening. Notably, there have been no expressions of remorse or regret from her side.

This week, Colbert and Maddow reunited to spread more conspiracies.

In my view, this time around, they hinted that the Republican Party may choose to abolish future elections, apparently with the aim of maintaining their rule indefinitely.

They don’t have any evidence to back their claims, but that doesn’t hinder them in the least. This is much like the baseless theories often discussed on “The View.” It’s all frenzy with very little, if any, substantial information.

Here’s Colbert setting the conspiracy in motion:

This conduct doesn’t appear to reflect individuals who feel accountable to their constituents in the next 18 months, and that concerns me. It’s not that they aren’t concerned, but rather, they might not think they should be concerned because perhaps they are exempt from having to consider an election at all.

Maddow: “[Trump] doesn’t think there should be elections.”

As a film critic observing the political landscape, I find myself deeply concerned by the actions being taken. They’re amassing control, effectively sidelining Congress, disregarding its authority, and either defunding or shutting down agencies. This isn’t their prerogative; it’s Congress’s role to play in our democratic system.

When they blatantly disobey court orders, it sends a chilling message: the courts have no jurisdiction over the president, further consolidating power into one individual. This is the very essence of authoritarianism – a desire to remain in power perpetually, avoiding elections because they’re inconvenient or potentially challenging.

This is not just troubling; it’s a direct threat to our democratic values and the rule of law. It’s a clear sign that they aim to maintain their grip on power indefinitely.

This fear-mongering isn’t amusing at all, and it’s particularly troubling since it’s supposed to be a platform for comedy. Late-night television is meant to provide relaxation and amusement before bed, not induce anxiety.

In contrast, they are continuously fed the diatribes from radical Left individuals who prioritize instilling fear over providing entertainment for their audience.

By the time 2026 arrives and regular elections take place, neither of them will acknowledge any mistake. Instead, they’ll focus on assuring us that there won’t even be elections in 2028.
