Laurence Fishburne Reveals Exciting Update on The Witcher Season 5 Production

The Netflix version of “The Witcher” is preparing for its last two seasons, and actor Laurence Fishburne (who has joined the cast as the intricate vampire Regis) has given a significant update on the series’ finale. Production for season 4 has concluded, with an anticipated release date next year, as Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia. Netflix is immediately starting production on Season 5 to bring the show to its conclusion, and Fishburne will soon be returning to set for his final appearances.

In an interview with Collider about his new film “The Amateur”, Lawrence Fishburne discussed the progress of “The Witcher” Season 5. Since some set photos had already hinted at the start of production on the final season, fans were eager to know more. Although the shooting is currently underway, Fishburne has only recently reconnected with his co-stars from Season 4. When asked about it, he urged patience, stating, “For ‘The Witcher’, everyone just needs to be patient with us as we embark on Season 5.” After wrapping up promotional activities for “The Amateur”, Fishburne is set to immediately jet off and film the last season of “The Witcher”.

“I will start when I leave here today. I go and I start filming.”

Morgan Fishburne has joined the cast of “The Witcher” for its last two seasons, sharing screen time with Liam Hemsworth. Both actors are taking on significant roles within the show. Hemsworth is stepping into the boots previously worn by Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, who left the series after Season 3 without disclosing his reasons. Last year, a short teaser showed a glimpse of Hemsworth in his white wig. On the other hand, Fishburne will embody one of Geralt’s closest and formidable allies, the humanist vampire Regis. Although leaked photos from Season 4’s filming offer a sneak peek at Fishburne dressed as Regis, fans will have to wait for the trailer to witness how this character is realized on screen.

Who Is Regis in ‘The Witcher’?

In Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series, it wasn’t until halfway through that the character Regis gained popularity among readers due to his sharp intellect, profound wisdom, and multifaceted nature. First appearing in “Baptism of Fire,” Regis teams up with Geralt on a mission to locate Ciri, who is thought to be a captive in Nilfgaard.

In the books and CDProjektRed’s game series, Regis is a superior vampire, one of the most formidable beings on The Continent. However, as readers discover throughout the stories, Regis has renounced consuming human blood. Initially, when he was transformed, there was pressure from his fellow vampires to conform by pillaging villages and taking lives, and Regis struggled with blood intake. Consequently, he vowed to abstain from blood and instead became a skilled herbalist who tended to the wounded.

As of now, we don’t have a confirmed air date for Season 4 of “The Witcher”. However, since filming has finished, it’s likely that we’ll see a trailer or fresh preview within a few weeks.
