Leading Compute DePIN Io.net Launches Highly Anticipated Staking Program

As a seasoned analyst with over two decades of experience in the tech industry, I have seen countless projects come and go. However, io.net’s Staking Program is one that truly stands out. The decentralized compute network’s approach to democratizing GPU resources and rewarding community members for their contributions is a game-changer.

Dubai, UAE, August 23rd, 2024, Chainwire

io.net, a pioneer in distributed computing systems, unveiled the debut of its much-awaited Rewards Program. This project is designed to strengthen the security and efficiency of the Internet of GPUs (IOG), all while giving community participants the chance to receive compensation for their participation.

Expanding upon the success of our current Ignition Reward Scheme, we’re introducing the Staking Program as another method for individuals to participate in the development of io.net’s decentralized network. By placing their devices within the IO Network, users can transform their computational resources into a revenue stream, with block rewards allocated based on each device’s performance. This program is structured to be accessible, catering to various types of devices, from top-tier GPUs to more basic configurations.

Ever since the initiation of the program, more than a million dollars have already been invested, demonstrating a high level of community involvement and belief in io.net’s concept of a decentralized, participant-led environment.

“Gaurav Sharma, the CTO of io.net, expressed his excitement about introducing our new Staking Program. This initiative significantly bolsters our network’s security and acknowledges our dedicated users with fair compensation. Our aim is to construct a user-centric, self-governing platform that incentivizes involvement while handling the high computational tasks our network encounters daily.”

The Staking Program strengthens the security of the IO Network by enabling users to actively participate in its upkeep. This direct contribution boosts its resistance to potential threats and enhances its ability to handle large-scale tasks effectively. To promote transparency and fairness, io.net has established measures like a slashing penalty system, which discourages dishonest activities and preserves the network’s trustworthiness.

Users need to deposit IO tokens based on their device’s abilities in order to qualify for block rewards. A straightforward calculation system streamlines this process, making it accessible for everyone to fulfill the staking conditions. The platform also includes a 14-day waiting period for those who want to withdraw their tokens, during which devices won’t earn block rewards.

io.net has provided detailed guides explaining how their Staking Program functions, covering aspects like earning boosters, estimated yields, and staking procedures. Users who stake more than the minimum withdrawal limit can instantly withdraw any excess tokens, while the rest will undergo a 14-day waiting period before they can be withdrawn. Hourly distribution of block rewards maintains a steady and fair reward system.

After the program’s debut, we’ll allow a two-week adjustment period before the mandatory staking conditions take effect. During this time, you won’t need to meet these conditions. You’ll find details about the staking requirements on your Block Reward Nomination Checklist soon after the launch. The exact block ID where these conditions will be enforced will be communicated separately later on.

The business has made available a public report containing comprehensive details about projected earning multipliers and hypothetical ROI figures, as of July 31, 2024. Although certain device types might see minor adjustments in reward payouts, the elimination of fraudulent devices is anticipated to counterbalance any diminution by lessening the impact of dilution.

“Sharma stated that our team remains dedicated to constantly improving the Staking Program, taking into account suggestions from users. As it grows and develops, we’ll implement changes to better the user experience and maintain its long-term prosperity.”

About io.net

io.net provides and oversees on-the-spot, distributed GPU clusters within the IO Network. The IO Network is a network of geographically dispersed GPUs from various sources, which together form a decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN). Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of GPUs available in the IO Network, designed explicitly for low latency and high-processing tasks such as AI/ML operations and cloud gaming. io.net makes GPU computing capacity more accessible, affordable, quicker to obtain, and offers more options for engineers and businesses. You can access compute capacity at a reduced cost or become a supplier of capacity by visiting https://www.io.net.
