While video games often capture our attention, it’s remarkable that a physical toy like LEGO has managed such enduring success. In fact, for many individuals grappling with mental health challenges, LEGO serves as a source of comfort and solace. As someone battling anxiety myself, I can relate to the sentiments expressed by US Women’s Rugby Olympic Medalist Sammy Sullivan on her Instagram posts about LEGO. Early in August, Sullivan shared a post highlighting the significance of these building blocks for her personally.
For a while, Sullivan found herself trapped in the monotonous cycle of coming home and endlessly scrolling through TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. This routine led to excessive overthinking about her mistakes during practice and anxiety about making the next roster.
