LEGO has introduced a novel playset featuring the Fantastic Four, which is a unique move for the brand and portrays Marvel’s original superhero family engaging in combat with the massive figure of Galactus. The movie adaptation of The Fantastic Four First Steps is scheduled to premiere on July 25th of this year. However, prior to watching Marvel’s First Family in action on the big screen, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have the opportunity to own them as miniature Lego figures for the very first time!
Entitled “LEGO Marvel Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Buildable Playset,” this set is poised to make LEGO history when it goes on sale on June 1, marking the toy brand’s first-ever set exclusively dedicated to the Fantastic Four. As revealed by LEGO, this 427-piece collectible will feature a poseable, 11-inch Galactus figure and four minifigures of the Fantastic Four family, complete with accessories that highlight each member’s unique powers.
As a diehard movie fan, I can’t help but marvel at the intricate details of these characters in the upcoming film. For instance, when it comes to Johnny Storm, or the Human Torch, portrayed by Joseph Quinn, he’s got not one, but two hand blasters that unleash fire elements, and a see-through prop for those breathtaking flight scenes. Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, is no less impressive, wielding a pair of force shields reminiscent of her powers showcased in the trailers for First Steps. Lastly, Ben Grimm, or The Thing, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, packs a punch with his colossal, rocky fists. Each character is meticulously crafted to bring the Marvel world to life on the big screen.
For the initial LEGO Fantastic Four collection, one standout design decision features Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, humorously showcasing his elastic abilities via adjustable leg pieces made of bricks.
Moreover, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have been keenly observing LEGO’s design of Galactus, as Marvel Studios has not yet unveiled a complete design for the Devourer of Worlds in the promotional materials for The Fantastic Four.
As an enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” The tantalizing glimpses we’ve gotten so far, with Ralph Ineson’s portrayal of Galactus looming ominously over the Statue of Liberty and treading menacingly through the streets of New York, have certainly whet my appetite. However, what I, along with fellow fans, are yearning to see is a complete unveiling of this cosmic menace, particularly his visage.
According to Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman, a full Galactus costume was created for actor Ralph Ineson. However, the character’s size is said to be similar to that of Mount Rushmore.
We created an entire costume for him and conducted extensive photography tests to determine how to maintain the right scale, as well as how best to capture images of Mount Rushmore.
If the series “First Steps” maintains a limited number of hints about Galactus, this LEGO set could offer the most significant sneak peek at the planet-devouring entity that MCU fans might receive before the movie hits theaters in July.
Is LEGO’s Fantastic Four Set Teasing a Final Battle?
As a die-hard movie fan, I can’t help but marvel at the very first LEGO Fantastic Four set, which has left Marvel enthusiasts pondering for quite some time now: what tactic this extraordinary family will employ to vanquish the colossal cosmic being known as Galactus.
In “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” will the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fresh heroes be seen interacting with the Devourer of Worlds, or is there another strategy planned by Reed Richards? Additionally, it remains uncertain whether they can succeed, given their origin from a universe distinct from Earth-616 (explore the surprising twist in “The Fantastic Four” ending here!).
spectators won’t get a glimpse until July 25th if this LEGO construction set is rooted more in reality or storytelling. Given the excitement surrounding this movie, this Galactus-focused set might mark LEGO’s debut with a Fantastic Four theme, but it probably won’t be their only one.
