1839 L’Epée, the well-known Swiss manufacturer, has presented a fresh Mechanical Watch Box during LVMH Watch Week, offering a new perspective on how luxury watches are showcased. This unique piece, referred to as the “VIP lounge for your wristwatch,” merges mechanical finesse with aesthetic grace to transform any watch into an artistic presentation piece.
In a clear case, the Watch Box functions as a platform that showcases not just the timepiece but also the exquisite in-house craftsmanship of L’Epée 1839’s engineering. By pushing a button, the box springs to life: its lifting mechanism delicately opens the cover and raises the watch, resulting in an enthralling performance. Closing the lid triggers the mechanism to rewind itself, thereby removing the need for manual winding and maintaining smooth operation.
This Inox, Acrylic Glass, and Microfiber Watch Holder is painstakingly crafted with polished, satin, and lacquered details by hand. The exposed gears and levers reflect the intricacy of high-end mechanical watches, making the case a piece of art in itself. This 3.4 kg sculpture, measuring 215 mm long, 150 mm wide, and 140 mm tall, showcases the skill L’Epée 1839 has developed over 180 years.
At this point in time, it remains undisclosed if the box is a limited edition item, but L’Epée has disclosed that the box will be priced at 9’900 CHF, which is roughly equivalent to $12,000 USD. Keep an eye out for more updates about LVMH Watch Week right here.
