As a long-time fan of the Yakuza series, I can hardly contain my excitement as Prime Video is set to premiere “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” on October 24th! Ever since I first stepped into Kamurocho back in 2005, I’ve been captivated by the rich storytelling and immersive gameplay that this franchise offers.
Given the surge in TV adaptations from popular video games such as Fallout and The Last of Us, Amazon Prime Video is now set to present an adaptation based on the enduring Yakuza series, specifically Like a Dragon: Yakuza.

Developed by Sean Crouch and Yugo Nakamura, the game titled “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” is set in Japan with English subtitles. It tells the story of Kazuma Kiryu, played by Ryoma Takeuchi, a fighter and ex-Yakuza gang member who tries to stay away from his criminal past. However, he gets pulled back into the underworld when his old friend and rival, Akira Nishikiyama (Kento Kaku), reappears on the scene.
Alongside Munetaka Aoki, Yuumi Kawai, Hinano Nakayama, Toshiaki Karasawa, Kōichi Satō, Subaru Shibutani, Saki Takaoka, Ryudo Uzaki, Shōhei Uno, Masaya Kato, Tomoya Maeno, and several others, this TV series features a talented ensemble cast.
