For nearly ten years, Lindsay Arnold was a well-known figure on television, dancing professionally on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” even winning Season 25 alongside singer Jordan Fisher. However, in 2023, she bid farewell to the small screen when she announced her departure from “DWTS.” Unlike many others who have chosen to stay, she opted for a different path, settling down in Utah far from Hollywood’s glamour with her husband and two daughters. Recently, she has shared insights into the choices that led her there, joining the ranks of other celebrities like “Modern Family” alum Ariel Winter who have left Hollywood behind.
The professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars” hails from Utah and tied the knot with her high school sweetheart at 21 in 2015. For many years, she had been based in Los Angeles for “DWTS,” but eventually, establishing their family led to moving away from LA, primarily for Arnold. In an interview with People, she discussed how things shifted after the arrival of their first child.
My priorities and where I wanted to invest my time have significantly changed. My perspective has evolved as well. Time seems to pass ten times quicker with children, and I recognize how invaluable and irreplaceable this time is. I asked myself if, should we have kids and I step away from the show, would I feel like I achieved what I had set out to do? I felt that I had reached that point. In truth, we were likely past being ready, but when we realized, ‘We really want this now,’ it was perfect timing for us, and I’m grateful we waited for that moment because everything felt so right.
Lindsay Arnold felt a great sense of achievement when she and Jordan Fisher won Season 25 of DWTS, but her subsequent four seasons, which may have been her final ones, didn’t go as well. However, it appears that she has no remorse about departing from that world to focus on her children in Utah. Instead, she transitioned into a role as a social media content creator. Currently, she boasts approximately 2.5 million followers across Instagram and TikTok.
Previously, her social media followers haven’t always been the most considerate, leading her to respond to comments about her C-section scar even during her stint on DWTS. More recently, the dancer further explained that parting ways with Los Angeles wasn’t particularly challenging for her, as she never truly felt a sense of belonging in that city. Arnold expressed:
Frankly, Hollywood wasn’t a place I ever envisioned calling home, despite cherishing everything it provided for my career and personal growth. However, whenever I had downtime from work, I secretly returned to Utah to be with my loved ones. It’s always been my heart’s desire to bring up my family in this familiar environment. As a native of Utah, the bustling city life never appealed to me. Yet, I acknowledge that my journey wouldn’t have been the same without my Hollywood experience, and for that, I remain truly grateful.
She openly expressed that she holds no resentment towards the show where she became widely recognized among DWTS fans, despite Los Angeles never truly feeling like her hometown. Notably, she returned to the show during Season 33 to back her younger sister Rylee Arnold and her partner, Stephen “Pommel Horse Guy” Nedoroscik. Although Rylee and Stephen ended up in fourth place while Joey Graziadei emerged as the Season 33 champion, Lindsay was there to cheer them on, particularly during their final performances.

Although ABC hasn’t yet specified when Dancing with the Stars Season 34 will air on their 2025 television lineup, it’s a fair assumption that Lindsay Arnold won’t be dancing but instead will be tuning in to watch. If Rylee comes back as a professional dancer, she can count on her older sister’s encouragement! Typically, DWTS has premiered in September, following this pattern every year since 2018. As for Lindsay Arnold, the Season 25 pro dance champion, she appears quite happy living in Utah with her family and focusing on content creation, showing no signs of returning to the dancing floor.
