Linda Hamilton Reveals Her Favorite Resident Alien Line: It “Will Go with Me to the Grave”

Instead of saying “Linda Hamilton has a favorite line from science fiction dialogues”, you could say “Linda Hamilton favors a memorable quote from science fiction conversations”. The alternative phrase maintains the original meaning but is rephrased in a more natural and easy-to-understand manner.

In a recent conversation with USA Insider, the actress associated with Terminator shared her favorite quote from the Resident Alien series (new episodes of which can be watched on USA Network and SYFY every Friday at 11 p.m. ET).

As a devoted fan, I’m not referring to the grandiose speech or the clever retort that took hours to perfect, but instead, I’m pointing out the brief mention of a sudden gastrointestinal issue in Season 4, Episode 3, titled “Ties That Bind.

In case you remember, an episode features Harry (Alan Tudyk) and D’arcy (Alice Wetterlund) traveling back to the past to get a Grey technology artifact that Harry intends to barter for his alien powers. However, there’s a hitch: Hamilton’s General Eleanor McCallister has already taken the item, disguised as a waitress in a 1970s Maine restaurant. She’s doing this to stop her father from taking his own life prematurely.

The pair locates her and, wishing to confer privately with the military commander, Harry somewhat overtly hints at D’arcy having an urgent need to visit the restroom (which she does not, but this is classic Harry behavior).

Linda Hamilton’s favorite line of dialogue from Resident Alien

Hamilton expressed his admiration for Alan’s performance in a situation that might seem absurd, but he found it delightful. He said, “It was funny, but I can’t get enough of it when he tries to make D’arcy leave so we can continue our argument, this little tiff.” Every time they rehearsed the scene, Alan would deliver the line differently and perfectly, making Hamilton laugh. The line Alan used, which sounded like “Don’t you have to diarrhea?”, has left a lasting impression on him. Hamilton confessed that he may remember this moment until the end of his career, as it was one of its highlights, thanks to how brilliantly Alan delivered that line each time. That phrase has become his favorite catchphrase.
