'Lioness' Star Shares How Season 2 Goes 'Out with a Bang'

As a devoted fan of gripping, character-driven series and a connoisseur of Taylor Sheridan’s masterpieces, I am utterly captivated by James Jordan’s journey through his extraordinary career. His tale is as inspiring as the stories he brings to life on screen.

The action-packed series “Special Ops: Lioness,” now streaming on Paramount+, has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes for its ongoing second season. Fans are eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the season as Zoe Saldaña’s series approaches the finish line. Recently, another captivating cast member of the show offered a tantalizing sneak peek into what lies ahead in the final episodes. Ahead of his next project with Taylor Sheridan, “Landman,” actor James Jordan shared some insights about the latest episode of “Lioness” with MovieWeb.

As a movie enthusiast, I can tell you that the explosive moments we’ve experienced so far are nothing compared to what’s coming. Prepare for even greater clashes ahead! Keep your seats, folks, because the ride is just getting started. Our fourth episode hit screens this past Sunday, and let me tell you, we’re not going gently into that good night. We’ve got six episodes in total, and trust me, the finale will leave you speechless.

Additionally, Jordan shared insights into his extensive collaboration with renowned TV producer Taylor Sheridan on several successful series such as Yellowstone, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, among others. He reminisced about the start of their working relationship. “Initially, I was a fan,” Jordan admitted. “I was jobless… and I went to see Sicario. It was August 2015. Walking out of that cinema, I couldn’t help but approach the poster. I wondered, ‘Who wrote this film?’ I saw the name ‘Taylor Sheridan,’ and on the spot, I messaged my manager, saying, ‘I need to work with this person.’

Exactly one and a half years later, I had the privilege of being in his first film, ‘Wind River’, which he directed. Since then, it’s been an incredible journey, as I’ve long admired this writer and felt honored to be a part of his creative vision. Working with him is always exciting – a thrilling challenge that never fails to invigorate me.

Landman Stars Operated a Real Oil Rig: ‘This Is Not CGI or Fake’

Additionally, we had the opportunity to talk with Jacob Lofland, who portrays Jordan’s co-star in the film “Landman”. Lofland plays Billy Bob Thornton’s ambitious son and a fellow oil rig worker, complementing Jordan’s rugged character during the modern West Texas setting. Lofland shares some insights about how he prepared for his intense scenes at the oil rigs, where events take a turn for the worse, as seen in the film. Lofland said:

James and I underwent an intensive five-day training in a real rig. It wasn’t a simulation or a set; we were operating a genuine oil rig. Learning the correct techniques was crucial for our safety, and once we mastered those skills, the workflow improved significantly.

Beginning November 17th, you’ll be able to stream “Landman” from MTV Entertainment every Sunday, exclusively on Paramount+. Here’s the link for your viewing pleasure: [Stream Link]
