Lisa Kudrow Said Fans Still Call Her Phoebe From Friends, Then Told A Great Story About Sandra Bullock

As a huge fan of Lisa Kudrow’s impressive acting career, I can’t help but be excited about her latest role as the leader of a band of time-traveling thieves in the upcoming Apple TV+ series remake of Terry Gilliam’s “Time Bandits.” Although she will forever be remembered for her iconic portrayal of Phoebe Buffay on “Friends,” it’s refreshing to see Kudrow take on a completely new and unconventional character.

Lisa Kudrow is preparing to bring a unique TV character to life, marking a new milestone in her accomplished career. She’ll be starring as the leader of a group of time-traveling thieves for Apple TV+’s reboot of Terry Gilliam’s “Time Bandits.” Despite her extensive portfolio, some viewers will forever remember her as Phoebe from “Friends,” an unconventional character beloved by both common fans and A-list celebrities alike.

During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with guest host Anthony Anderson, Lisa Kudrow was playfully reminded of her iconic Friends character. Despite the passage of two decades since the sitcom’s finale, she jokingly reacted with “Oh my gosh” before sharing a delightful anecdote. According to Kudrow, she once encountered Sandra Bullock on set and inadvertently referred to her as her Friends character, Ross’s wife, Carol Willick.

At a recent bustling gathering, I found myself in an engaging conversation with none other than Sandra Bullock herself. Yes, I know it sounds impressive, but it really happened! We were chatting about various topics, and at one point she teasingly remarked, “I suppose you’ll have to carry on talking to yourself, Phoebe,” regarding a certain matter. And she addressed me as Phoebe – isn’t that a delightful moment to share? [Laughs.]

When Lisa Kudrow shared an amusing anecdote about a Hollywood star forgetting her name, her face radiated joy the whole time. If I were in her shoes, I’d teasingly address Bullock as “Annie,” reminding everyone of her iconic role in “Speed.” We’d brainstorm a buddy comedy idea featuring Phoebe and Annie, and inevitably someone would ask, “Why is this guy even here?”

Regarding the dialogue between them, the veterinarian from “Friends” didn’t feel compelled to comment, while Bullock swiftly noticed the error as it unfolded. To quote her exact words:

She caught herself. She went, ‘What did I just do?’ I don’t know!

It’s understandable that being given the wrong name can be frustrating, and the level of irritation may vary based on who makes the error. However, it’s safe to assume that Sandra Bullock would not rank high among those sources of annoyance.
