Lizzo Returns With New Single “Love in Real Life” and Intimate Fan Shows

In her newest music video for the song “Love in Real Life,” Lizzo expresses that things are much more straightforward, which is precisely what she requires. She’s talking about no social media views or likes, but instead, genuine affection experienced in real life.

The song with a rock influence, which earned the Grammy-winning artist the top prize, marks her first solo single in close to three years. Since 2022, she hasn’t put out an album on her own, but she did contribute to the soundtrack for the 2023 “Barbie” movie. “Love in Real Life,” a track from this upcoming album that shares its name, will be included.

In Colin Tilley’s music video for the song, the artist (who is 36 years old) is seen wearing a jacket adorned with studs, exuding a vibe reminiscent of the ’90s. The music video concludes with a dance sequence that resembles Michael Jackson’s style, featuring Lizzo as the leader of a group of dancers in “Love in Real Life”.

The performer has declared a series of three concerts as a way to mark the beginning of this new phase, it seems. Lizzo will be performing at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on March 12, followed by a show at Irving Plaza in New York on March 16. Her tour concludes at First Avenue in Minneapolis on March 18.

For a while now, Lizzo has been hinting at upcoming music. On February 13th, she shared an Instagram video where she’s seen spray-painting and reciting “Bye Bitch” over her 2022 album, Special, with the caption: “Closing a Chapter.

Initially, Lizzo hinted at upcoming music during an episode of Keke Palmer’s podcast, “Baby, This is Keke Palmer,” back in December. Speaking about her album, she expressed her joy and stated, “My album is complete! I’m so delighted. Some people thought I was taking a break, but actually, I’ve been busy in the studio.

In that podcast, Lizzo spoke about the lawsuit brought against her by some of her former tour dancers who claimed they experienced sexual harassment and were subjected to an unfriendly work environment. “I was living my dream, and then suddenly, the tour ended, and three ex-dancers unexpectedly hit me with a lawsuit,” she expressed.

Lizzo informed Palmer that since she’s been released from this matter, she’s open to answering any questions about it. She further clarified that they’ll keep arguing the remaining issues until they’re all resolved – not abandoned, but resolved – as she considered it a significant triumph,” Lizzo explained.

Presale for Lizzo’s upcoming shows starts on March 5 and general sale begins on March 6.
