Despite recently making headlines for its off-screen drama, “It Ends With Us” has been a significant box office success. In just two weeks since its release, the film has climbed to be among the top 15 highest-grossing movies of 2024, earning over $200 million worldwide as of Thursday. Colleen Hoover’s Thrilling Verity Novel Is Being Adapted, Too
In May, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Amazon MGM Studios are adapting Hoover’s 2018 novel “Verity”. This book revolves around a hard-up writer named Lowen who lands an opportunity to finish the unfinished series of a highly successful book franchise authored by Verity Crawford, a renowned bestseller. However, upon arriving at the Crawford residence, Lowen accidentally discovers an incomplete biography that Verity had never intended for public viewing.
Hillarry Seitz, known for penning scripts such as Insomnia, Eagle Eye, and The Unforgivable, is adapting the screenplay for the Verity movie.
Allison Williams Will Star In The Regretting You Movie
In addition to the adaptation of “Verity,” Colleen Hoover’s 2019 novel, “Regretting You,” is also being turned into a film. Similar to how “It Ends With Us” made it to the big screen, Deadline announced this news. The movie revolves around the intricate bond between Morgan and Clara, her mother, which becomes even more tense when Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father dies in a sad accident.
It appears that the film “Regretting You” might be more advanced in production than “Verity,” given that director Josh Boone of “The Fault In Our Stars” fame is already attached to direct, with a script penned by Susan McMartin from “Mom.” Moreover, the main cast has also been assembled. Actress Allison Williams, known for her roles in “M3GAN” and “Girls,” will portray Morgan, while McKenna Grace, famously recognized for her role in “Ghostbusters,” is set to play her daughter Clara. Lastly, Dave Franco has been cast as Jonah, the love interest of Morgan following her husband’s demise.
