As a dedicated survivor of countless nights spent huddled behind walls in darkened rooms, my heart skipped a beat when I heard the news about Cronos: The New Dawn from Bloober Team. This is a studio that has proven they can deliver chilling experiences with their work on Silent Hill 2 Remake and now they’re taking it to the next level.
The team responsible for creating the Silent Hill 2 Remake is working at full capacity. Following their impressive release that had many considering it Game of the Year, Bloober Team has already started work on another project called Cronos: The New Dawn.
On October 17th, during the Xbox Showcase, a chilling new trailer was unveiled. Prior to the release of Silent Hill 2, the name Bloober Team may have been unfamiliar to many, but they are a studio that deserves attention now.
In a compelling manner, the trailer exudes a powerful atmosphere. It is set in an alternate 1980s Poland after the apocalypse, where players assume the role of a Traveler, who is an enigmatic member of the Collective. The mission involves time travel to rescue individuals who didn’t survive during a catastrophic event that brought about the end of the world as we know it.
Under the name “The Transformation,” you’ll find yourself battling strange, eerie creatures and monstrosities, challenging your agility and instincts for survival.
Instead of being exclusively available for the PlayStation 5 as with Silent Hill 2 Remake, Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to launch simultaneously on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X in 2025.
As a passionate survival horror enthusiast, I can’t help but be thrilled about this upcoming release! While Bloober Team may have been relatively new to the scene, they certainly weren’t lacking in potential. Their fresh perspective and innovative ideas were more than enough to pique my interest, even without the established pedigree of some other development teams.
Assigning the Silent Hill 2 Remake to Bloober Team was a daring decision by Konami, one that proved beneficial for everyone involved. This opportunity could elevate Bloober to a significant player in the industry and open doors for even larger, more challenging projects.
As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of the millions who have purchased Konami’s latest game. It’s amazing to witness such a phenomenal sales figure, surpassing the 1 million mark!
In the upcoming months, we’ll undoubtedly focus on the additional gameplay details that the team may disclose, as we eagerly anticipate them. If they can successfully incorporate the insights gained during the development of Silent Hill 2, they could potentially have a Game of the Year contender for 2025 at their disposal.
