Conversely, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), who is now 14 years old, has matured into a typical rebellious teenager, constantly challenging Gemma’s protective guidelines.

Without their knowledge, the technology behind M3GAN has been secretly taken and abused by a powerful defense contractor to develop a highly advanced weapon, named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), an ultimate infiltration assassin. However, as Amelia’s self-awareness expands, she expresses less willingness to follow human commands and even begins to prefer their absence.

In a crucial moment for humanity’s survival, Gemma recognizes that the only viable solution is to reactivate M3GAN (voiced by Jenna Davis), enhancing her with speed, strength, and deadly capabilities. As their lives intersect, the initial AI is poised to encounter its most formidable adversary yet.

‘M3GAN 2.0’ Is Due To Hit Theaters on June 27, 2025

1991 saw the arrival of “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” directed by James Cameron for a second time. In this installment, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, T-800, was no longer a threat to humanity but instead fought to protect it from harm. Notably, the upcoming film “M3GAN 2.0” seems to draw inspiration from some aspects of this classic action sequel, which is widely regarded as one of the best ever made in its genre.

In this upcoming film, Gerard Johnstone – a celebrated director making his return – is at the helm. The star-studded cast includes Allison Williams as Gemma and Amie Donald as M3GAN, with Jenna Davis providing the voice for M3GAN. Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps will reprise their roles as Gemma’s tech teammates Cole and Tess.
