Mac Miller’s Unreleased ‘Balloonerism’ Album Announced at Camp Flog Gnaw

As a die-hard Mac Miller fan who has followed his music journey since the Blue Slide Park days, this news about the upcoming release of “Balloonerism” is like a dream come true! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this album ever since the first rumors started circulating. I remember when he teased it back in 2018; it felt as if we were on the verge of something extraordinary.

A previously unheard Mac Miller track could be released shortly following a sneak peek trailer that was shown at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw event in Los Angeles this past weekend.

A brief teaser video advertising the long-awaited project named “Balloonerism” was shown, sandwiched between Sampha and Alchemist & Friends’ performances. The trailer contained a sequence of animations and what appeared to be the album cover, with the words “soon” displayed along with a painting of Miller created by artist Alim Smith – the same image he shared on Instagram in September 2018. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of Balloonerism since it was reported that Miller had worked on the project before his 2014 mixtape “Faces” over a week-long period. There are whispers that Thundercat might be part of this collaboration, as several songs from the album were released in 2020 and featured SZA and Dylan Reynolds.

This album represents the second posthumous release from the deceased artist, Mac Miller. Check out the fan-recorded trailer down below, but as of now, no specific release date has been disclosed.
