Machine Gun Kelly Was A Surprisingly Good Mentor On The Voice For Gwen Stefani’s Team, But I’m Really Confused By A Different Twist

As a gamer who’s been glued to The Voice for the past 13 seasons, I must say this current run has been a rollercoaster of emotions. This season, we have seen new rules, unexpected advisors, and performances that make me question the very essence of the show.

After the episode of “The Voice” that aired on November 19, this story is free from spoilers. However, if you haven’t finished watching Season 26 yet, you can still stream it by subscribing to Peacock.

In the 2024 TV lineup, Season 26 of The Voice has progressed to its Playoff phase, where each coach can pick only two artists from their remaining five to compete live. On Tuesday, the spotlight was solely on Gwen Stefani’s team as they showcased their talents before she made her tough selection. Machine Gun Kelly provided some assistance, acting as a mentor during the Playoff rehearsals, and I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by his active involvement. However, it was the intriguing question of who would be Snoop Dogg’s advisor this round that left me momentarily bewildered.

MGK Makes His Voice Debut To Help Team Gwen

This month has been quite hectic for Machine Gun Kelly. He recently made his debut on The Voice, and only a few days later, Megan Fox shared a post announcing they are expecting a baby. Even though assisting Gwen Stefani’s team during the playoffs might not be as significant as welcoming a new addition to the family again, Machine Gun Kelly seemed genuinely invested in his role.

Respectfully speaking, it wasn’t exactly what I anticipated from a performer who frequently performs daring stunts like scaling high stages and shattering champagne glasses on his face. However, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) managed to establish a connection with the contestants by sharing his own experiences, such as having worked in fast food jobs and performing while his child was born, much like Jan Dan from Team Gwen. I found this endearing.

As an enthusiast, I didn’t hesitate to express my thoughts, aiding the vocalists in tapping into the depth of the song’s emotions they were conveying. I inspired them to improvise and take risks, for I firmly believed that “for some, the unconventional is their way.

To be honest, it would have been great if Machine Gun Kelly could advise the other teams too, but it seems that’s not part of the current strategy. Frankly, I’m a bit puzzled about what their actual plan is.

Team Snoop Will Be Advised By … Simone Biles?

Intriguingly, The Voice hinted at the resumption of Playoffs next Monday. To many people’s surprise, Simone Biles emerged as Snoop Dogg’s advisor for the Playoffs, leaving some puzzled. It’s clear that the West Coast rapper is aiming to harness the greatness and inspiration of the legendary gymnast, but one might wonder about her ability to guide singing talent. It seems I wasn’t the only one left scratching my head, as Twitter users voiced their confusion as well.

  • SIMONE??? That’s so random to me… so that tracks for snoop 😭😭 – McEnFancy
  • Simone Biles????? – houseofwarwick
  • I’m a huge Simone Biles fan but wtfork does she have to do with singing? Very odd – LukeEverhart1

As a fervent admirer, I find myself pondering: Given Simone Biles’ extraordinary performances on the global stage, it seems plausible that her guidance would revolve around managing anxiety and excelling under pressure – advice that resonates deeply with Snoop.

I won’t undervalue the gold medalist, just like I might have underestimated MGK. This isn’t the first time in Season 26 that I’ve been perplexed by this show I’ve been watching for the past 13 years. To begin with, they introduced a new rule that seemed to go against the essence of The Voice, and then a contestant of Gwen Stefani made history by doing something that I wasn’t aware was possible.

The show, referred to as “The Voice,” is keeping me quite busy and I must admit, I’m not nearly as poised as Simone Biles appears on that balance beam. I can’t wait to witness her talents in the singing competition when it continues at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, November 25th, on NBC.
